Beginning April 1, KPS Health Plans, began offering a new Sound Harbor Basic healthcare plan for small business.
The new plan improves on the previous Business Basic plan by incorporating new benefits for maternity, mental health and Temperomandibular Joint Dysfunction and slightly decreasing other benefits to maintain the low premiums enjoyed by Business Basic customers.
“This new Sound Harbor Basic plan will offer small businesses more options based on their premium rate needs,” said company President Elizabeth Gilje.
“KPS is known for our ability to offer more creative benefit designs based on our client’s needs and for differentiating ourselves from the competition by being innovative, flexible, customer driven and committed.”
While the plan change was a result of a state mandate, the new plan should be much more attractive to small businesses seeking lower premium rates.
Other small group plans offered by KPS include a Group Comprehensive plan, a Sound Harbor Group plan and a Healthy Investor plan. A new HSA plan will also likely be available beginning April 1.
