The Women of the Towing & Recovery Association of America (WTRAA) recently announced that the national Tow Woman of the Year Award recipient for 2006 is Stacey Tucker, owner of Bremerton-based Chico Towing.
Each year, WTRAA selects a member who is an outstanding leader in the towing industry as a result of her significant contributions to her state and national associations, local community, and business.
Tucker was WTRAAs president from 1997-1999 and has served as the chair of the WTRAA scholarship committee for the eight years. Through her efforts, she was instrumental in securing matching dollars from the Miller Family Foundation (manufacturer of towing equipment) combined with private contributions which raised a total of $40,000 toward the principle of the Scholarship Fund.
In 1994, Tucker became the third-generation owner of Chico Towing. She has been the Washington representative for the Towing & Recovery Association of America for over a decade, is past president for the Washington Towing Association, and was awarded the 2001 Washington Tow Truck Operator of the Year Award.
She has received many local awards and recognition, including the 1997 YWCA Woman of Achievement, and 2006 Kitsap Peninsula Business Journals 40 Under Forty.. |
