SPECIAL REPORT - EDUCATION ON THE PENINSULA
CKSD seeks Advisory Committee Members
The CKSD Career & Technical Education Department is looking for volunteers to serve as community representatives for its programs during the 2006-2007 school year.

Career & Technical Education is part of the secondary school curriculum and offers classes in the following programs: American Sign Language, Applied Technology, Arts & Communication, Automotive Technology, Business & Technology, Computer-Assisted Drafting, Computer Maintenance & CISCO Networking, Family & Consumer Science, Marketing Education, Sports Medicine, and Work-Based Learning.

The advisory committees meet approximately four times a year in the evenings for one to two hours. Each committee works with the instructors to help improve program quality, facilities, equipment, and resources. Advisory committee members also assist with student leadership programs and activities such as DECA (Distributive Education Clubs of America), FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America, FCCLA (Family, Career & Community Leaders of America), SkillsUSA (Vocational Industrial Clubs of America), and TSA (Technology Student Association).
