| Rick Lanning, owner of two Kitsap companies, and his partner, Greg Moga, are opening up a Seattle showroom for Snaidero, a top line of kitchen cabinetry.
Snaidero, Italys leading manufacturer of high-quality cabinets, blends historic European traditions with advanced technology. The contemporary style of cabinetry is popular in luxury condominiums and high-end retail spaces. Snaidero USA has more than 25 showrooms and studios but the closest location to the Northwest is in San Francisco, Lanning says. Studio Snaidero, located on Sixth Avenue in Seattle, will have seven kitchen displays in its 3,300 square feet of space. The July 13 grand opening is sponsored by Architectural Digest.
Lannings Homeland Construction, a general contractor that builds high-end homes, has been in business for 26 years. He also owns Kingston-based Sound Stoneworks, which offers custom fabrication of granite, marble and limestone.
Moga, Lannings Stoneworks partner, became familiar with Snaidero and was interested in it for his own use. When he learned about the companys history and saw the variety of products, he started discussing with company representatives the possibility of opening a showroom.
Its tight-knit organization, Lanning said. They wanted solid representation. It took nine months to negotiate the deal.
The company, which is 60 years old, partners up with acclaimed designers, artists and architects to design and produce functional, cutting-edge products.
Lanning says they will sell Sneidero out of Kingston without a showroom, and will sell slab granite at the Seattle Studio Snaidero. With several manufacturers in the area, he calls Seattle the center of the universe for slab.
Lanning believes the Kitsap market may not have as much demand for Sneidero except for projects like Bremertons waterfront condos and remodels. In Seattle, however, the market is huge.
We have a real emerging condominium market in Seattle, he says. Seattle is behind the curve with the rest of the country when it comes to condominiums.. |
