| Trophy Lake Golf and Casting, along with Washington National Golf in Auburn, became the latest golf property acquisitions for Bellevue-based Oki Golf in December. The company, founded by former Microsoft executive Scott Oki in 1994, now owns seven golf properties with a total of nine courses throughout the Puget Sound area. The purchase of Trophy Lake and Washington National Golf — from Heritage Golf Group, headquartered in San Diego — positions Oki Golf as one of the largest stakeholders in the Northwest golf industry.
Oki Golf’s other award-winning properties are the Golf Club at Echo Falls, Indian Summer Golf & Country Club in Olympia, The Plateau Club in Sammamish, the Golf Club at Hawks Prairie in Lacey and The Golf Club at Newcastle. Seven of the nine courses now owned by Oki — including Trophy Lake — were recently ranked in the top 25 of the 'Most Challenging Courses in Washington State' by the USGA.
Golfers and casters who visit Trophy Lake are not likely to see any radical changes to accompany the new ownership, according to Oki Golf’s marketing manager George Cox. There will be no staff shakeups and there are no plans for any major overhauling or remodeling.
“From a facilities standpoint, both [courses] are gorgeous,” said Cox. “That is one of the reasons why we bought them.”
The biggest change is that Trophy Lake, as an Oki Golf property, will now be a part of Oki Golfís golfer loyalty program, the Oki Golf Players Card. The card, which is available for purchase at four levels ó original, platinum, senior and junior — provides discounts to cardholders at five of the company’s properties, complimentary rounds of golf, invitational tournaments and other incentives.
Organizations who wish to organize a tournament at Trophy Lake will now be able to take advantage of Oki Golf’s tournament specialists, who help plan tournaments at all of the companyís properties.
“We’re really trying to build the Oki Golf experience, as a best-of-class experience with superior customer service,” said Cox. |
