More Web Site Tips and Tricks
• Include contact information like e-mail or phone number on as many pages as possible so visitors don't have to look for that information.
• Consider using a form instead of an actual e-mail link - most designers can create one, and a form will keep your e-mail harder to find by spammers who use software to automatically lift e-mail addresses off Websites.
• If you are on a tight budget, you could try some basic “looks” using readily available templates in Microsoft software to give the designer a good idea of what you want, which will save on “creative thinking” time.
• Visit other sites, not necessarily from competitors, and figure out what you like and what you don't, and have the list ready for the designers.
• Don't be afraid to interview more than one designer or ask for a Request for Proposals that outlines all your wishes.
