New name, new hours, new services, a fresh new look and the same great care. Thats the plan at Harrisons urgent care clinic in Port Orchard. Soon to be Harrison Clinic at South Kitsap, the new primary care clinic will be open seven days a week, from 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., offering same-day appointments as well as walk-in care for minor accidents and injuries.
During renovation, underway now, the clinic will remain open every day for walk-in care from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. With renovation to be completed in August, the clinic will add same-day scheduled appointments; walk-in treatment of minor injuries will continue.
Why primary care?
Primary care physicians trained in family medicine, general internal medicine, or general pediatrics typically care for most of a persons healthcare needs. By expanding the clinic to include primary care services, we can benefit the long-term health of those we serve, explains clinic manager Gene Burwell. And by continuing to offer walk-in care for their minor incidents we answer their immediate health needs.
The new clinic hours 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., which will be effective in August - aim to meet the needs of busy families who have requested earlier appointment times.
Joining the clinic staff is Dr. Martin Iversen, a family practitioner who will begin seeing patients in July. A community grand-opening celebration is planned for mid-August when renovation is complete and the new hours are in effect. |
