René Powless, owner of René’s Mailings, Inc. of Port Orchard, will join thousands of other dedicated women and men at the Seattle Breast Cancer 3-Day benefiting the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation and the National Philanthropic Trust Breast Cancer Fund. The participants will walk 60 miles during three days to raise breast cancer awareness and to raise money for critical research and community outreach programs.

The 3-day walk is scheduled for July 22 - 24, 2005. During the past few months and continuing until the event, Powless will train almost daily to prepare for the event. Her training will include swimming twice per week and regular cross training at Curves, in addition to walking a total of over 600 miles.

In order to participate, each walker must agree to personally raise $2,100 in donations. Powless’ plan is to raise at least $5,000.
