On April 22, the Washington Health Foundation bestowed the coveted Heroes of Health Care award in four categories.
Award winners were selected after a wide-ranging internal and external nominating process, and are all active leaders in improving health across the state.
Our Heroes of Health Care awards are a highlight of the year, said Greg Vigdor, president and CEO of the Washington Health Foundation (WHF).
Award recipients are as follows:
Lifetime Achievement: Dr. Christopher Blagg, executive director emeritus of the Northwest Kidney Centers.
Leadership in Health: Rotary Clubs of Washington State for their leadership role in Rotary International and major health projects such as Polio Plus.
Innovation: Nancy Nash (Omak, Washington), a leader in significant health care and community efforts related to diversity and inclusion in this rural community.
Collaboration: Spokane Medical Society for Project Access, a program that links medical doctors with the uninsured.
