KeyBank first to offer server backup and
disaster recovery to business customers
As trend toward seamless banking and technology flourishes, alliance
with AmeriVault expands suite of business services offered
Ninety-three percent of companies that experience a significant data loss are out of business within five years, according to the United States Bureau of Labor. Calling sufficient server backup and disaster recovery practices, “critical to the health and wellness of a business,” Cleveland-based KeyBank, which has a number of branches on the Kitsap Peninsula, is now offering AmeriVault’s online backup and disaster recovery solution to its business banking and middle market clients.
This service enhancement is a significant step in the industry, in which a bank provides expanded business-critical services — beyond the typical financial services —- to its customers.
“As Key’s clients increasingly use technology to improve productivity, lower costs and grow revenue, the value of their data increases dramatically, said Rob Martens, vice president, strategic alliance development. “This alliance serves to protect our clients’ assets, just as banks have done for centuries.”
“Alarmingly, many companies still do not have sufficient data protection,” said Martens. “AmeriVault’s online, off-site backup solution allows businesses to cost-effectively protect their data, ranging from routine power outages to large-scale events.” The solution is practical, proven and makes sense for our clients, he said. AmeriVault offers business continuity for organizations of all sizes through immediate data recoverability, providing cost-effective data insurance in the case of human or system failure, virus or disaster. Utilizing industry-leading software and the industry’s best services, AmeriVault’s data recovery and backup solution automatically recognizes block changes within files, then encrypts the compressed data before pushing it via the Internet to secure Mass Storage Vaults. When restoration is necessary, it can be accomplished within seconds or minutes from an internal or remote desktop, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
“The financial services industry has always been a core focus for us, given its highly sensitive data,” said Bud Stoddard, president & CEO, AmeriVault. “We look forward to our alliance with KeyBank to protect the data of thousands of its business customers throughout the country.”
AmeriVault’s online backup solution is available to KeyBank customers immediately, as a part of KeyGuide, a suite of scalable eBusiness products, services and solutions. KeyGuide offerings include electronic invoice presentment and payment (EIPP), enterprise resource planning (ERP), document management and more.
