Olympic Surgical Associates of Port Orchard has recently introduced additional services, thanks to a new laser, CoolGlide. Leg or facial veins and rosatia treatments, skin rejuvenation, and hair removal are some of the procedures CoolGlide can do, eliminating the need for having multiple lasers.
Its pretty exciting, said Olympic Surgicals Nancy Boyden. We are the only ones in Kitsap to have it.
Before implementing the new technology, the practice followed for more than a year another clinic in Tacoma that was already using it. Boyden says the great advantage is that all practitioners around the country who use the laser, developed and manufactured by Altus Medical, are trained consistently in the same way.
CoolGlide uses the longest-available laser wavelength for safely treating all skin types, and has been approved by the FDA for treating wrinkles and permanent hair reduction and removal. The system delivers fast, high-energy pulses and is effective for both small and large areas of the body.
Laser skin resurfacing, which removes wrinkles, age spots and other skin damage, microdermabrasion removing the top skin layer to leave rejuvenate it and other aesthetic procedures are becoming more popular in the age of vanity. Technology is making these and other procedures less intrusive, painless, and eliminating a long path to recovery.
Olympic Surgical Associates offers cosmetic, reconstructive and maxillocial surgery as well in its state-of-the-art ambulatory surgery center. All medical personnel including nurses and doctors are certified in advanced cardiac or basic life support.
Dr. Derek Boyden, a surgeon who opened the clinic together with wife Nancy, has published research on a variety of topics, while Nancy was previously a nurse practitioner.
The new laser, which has only been available at the practice for a few months, is a big step for the practice. We can do so much more now, Nancy Boyden said. |
