Kris Tefft has joined the Association of Washington Business (AWB) Governmental Affairs staff, where he will serve as Director for Legal Affairs.

Tefft comes to AWB from the Building Industry Association of Washington (BIAW) where he served as legal counsel for the last three years. At BIAW, he developed an extensive in-house litigation practice, representing the association and its members as lead or co-counsel in 15 cases before the Washington Supreme Court and Court of Appeals.

At AWB, Tefft will be working with the Legal Affairs and Employment Law Committees as well as heading up liability reform efforts.

“Kris’s litigation experience, including arguing cases before the state Supreme Court, will bring good dynamics to our team,” said AWB Vice President of Governmental Affairs Gary Chandler. “One of Kris’s major efforts this year will be in liability reform. We are confident that Kris will be a real asset to AWB.”.
