Husband and wife Pat and Patty Drew have opened a small intimate restaurant with a menu that features buffalo burgers as the specialty of the house. The restaurant, Off The Range Grill & Meats, is located on Bay Street across from the Marina Park in downtown Port Orchard.

The couple has developed eight gourmet buffalo burgers and included them on the menu with five well-known standards, one of which is their tasty Bison Bacon Cheeseburger. Their Jamaica-Me-Crazy Burger and the Shiitake Mushroom Burger are more examples of the type of gourmet burgers that the couple is continuing to develop.

Buffalo meat is a sweet red meat similar to beef but contains about one fourth of the fat found in beef. It’s also low in calories and cholesterol, and high in protein.

The eatery’s name, Off The Range, has two connotations — for where the buffalo roam and for the grill just outside the restaurant door on Bay Street, where you can find Pat, Patty or one of their employees flipping burgers from 11 to 7, seven days a week.
