The Kitsap Housing Coalition again hosts the 6th annual upcoming Affordable/Fair Housing Event at the Center Court in the Kitsap Mall on Saturday, June 21.

First time homebuyers are invited to follow the “6 Steps to Homeownership” with free advice from local realtors, lenders, government agencies, and credit counselors. Credit Counseling and a discussion of Fair Housing issues are also part of the show.

During the day, participants learn to take the mystery out of buying a home. Topics include learning how to choose a realtor, how to get a mortgage loan, and how to avoid predatory lenders. Special activities during the day include a workshop at 1 p.m., designed to help disabled first time homebuyers find lending assistance. Plus, learn about JumpStart! Financial Smarts for Students that advocate financial literacy in the classroom grades K-12.
