Habitat For Humanity seeking volunteers

Habitat for Humanity of Kitsap County, a non-profit ecumenical organization working to eliminate poverty housing locally, is seeking detail-oriented and organized individuals to serve on its Family Selection Committee for five to ten hours a week for four months a year. Duties include presenting qualification information to potential applicants and assisting applicants in filling out the application as well as financial forms. Members will be required to perform house visits and ensure legal requirements are met and documented. Volunteers must be able to keep strict confidentiality and appreciate the challenges of low-income people.

A training session will be held on Saturday June 28 at 9 a.m. in the Habitat for Humanity office located in Bremerton. Interested volunteers should call to reserve a seat in the class before June 15. No experience is necessary, as training is provided. Contact Lori at (360) 479-3853 for more information and to get involved.
