I have a great job, said Stacey Ames, marketing director for the Kitsap Mall in Silverdale. My life is great!
Ames has worked as the marketing director of Kitsap Mall for three years. The Macerich Company employs her. The company is a real estate investment trust, one of the largest owners and operators of regional malls in the United States and the largest in the Western United States. The company operates 56 malls and 21 community centers in 21 states.
Before her employment with Macerich Company, she worked as an assistant marketing director and was manager of six retail stores. She recently earned her certified marketing director, CMD, certification.
Ames provides background to prospective merchants. She researches and compares the Kitsap Mall market to the markets of prospective tenants located in other markets nationwide.
My greatest challenge is to show prospective merchants that Kitsap County is so much more than demographic numbers, she said. Our quality of life is so great here.
Her major responsibilities are public relations, promotions, advertising and special events. She fundraises for local nonprofits by collaborating special events at Kitsap Mall.
Last year, we raised over $46,000 for nonprofits in Kitsap County, she said. I am very excited about Girls Night Out.
Girls Night Out will fundraise for the Harrison Hospital Foundation on Sept. 26. A $5 ticket will be exchanged at the malls entrance for a gift bag, discounts from participating stores, free classes and workshops. A class on journaling will be offered. Women who participate in the hair and makeup workshop will participate in a fashion show the grand finale.
All of the proceeds from the ticket sales will go the Harrison Hospital Foundation, Ames said.
Ames serves as the chair of the board of the YMCA of Kitsap County. She is a board member for the Linder Foundation, the educational grants foundation for the Kitsap School District. She serves on the Silverdale Commerce Education Committee. |
