SPECIAL REPORT - EXECUTIVE GIFT GIVING
Personalize the events of life
By Temple A. Stark

Already used up all your good ideas for gifts? And you’ve probably already skipped past the ones most people consider uninspired.

Now’s the time to get personal.

Those pictures frames (always underrated as gifts anyway), drinking glasses, and money clips can take on a whole new place in someone’s heart if they are personalized.

And so can running shoes. Yep, Nike comes through with what will necessarily be an exclusive product. They call it the Air Pegasus 2000 iD.

It will allow runners to customize the outsole, midsole, width, color and personalization features of the shoe. And team or people’s names of 10 characters or less can be added. And these shoes, at $70 to $90, stay below triple digits.

Those not tuned on by the idea of stepping on your own good name have other choices. Things Remembered at Kitsap Mall in Silverdale is one example of a company that will engrave almost anything metal, glass or leather with names, and special dates. That includes whatever you bring, though they have numerous items available. They can be reached at 360-698-7448

John and Sharon Lisicich, owners of S and J Great Day in Gig Harbor have a niche market home business. It’s funny what love for a ball game can lead to and their love of tennis brought them to learning how to stuff tennis and golf balls into wine bottles. Or anything else, really.

“It’s different from our usual work in that it’s fun to do something creative,” Sharon Lisicich said. “We don’t want to put things in that you can put through the top. That takes the fun out of it.”

They will produce one bottle or a case or a lake of bottled wine, with labels celebrating an anniversary a birth, a team win or any other event. Reach them at (253) 851-6576 or by e-mail, sjgreatday@msn.com.

And as more and more people are discovering, having their own Web site, for instance www.yourname.com or www.templestark.com, helps establish an online presence. It can also be a lot of work.

Buying a domain can be made through numerous sites, including www.name.tv and register.com.
