Mark Dederer has been named vice president and Community Relations manager for Wells Fargo, announced James Prunty, who leads Wells Fargo Community Banking in Western Washington.
Dederer oversees Wells Fargos charitable contributions in Washington. The company has given nearly $9 million toward Washington community projects and causes in the past six years. Since 2000, Wells Fargo has contributed more than $128 million to 10,000-plus nonprofits across the United States more than $175,000 a day.
We at Wells Fargo have a long heritage of being dedicated to helping our communities grow and prosper, Prunty said. Mark has a solid background in community relations, and he will be key to our community-giving mission.
Most recently, Dederer worked in Seattle for Wells Fargo Community Support, a department that manages scholarships, education and volunteer programs companywide. He also helped coordinate fundraising campaigns for United Way of King County.
A Seattle native, Dederer is a board member of Barnyard Kids, a nonprofit that serves special needs children. He also volunteers for LittleBits, a horse-riding therapy school in Woodinville for people with special needs.
Dederer is past president of the Toppenish Chamber of Commerce and has volunteered for the Make-A-Wish Foundation and the Childrens Miracle Network Telethon. He earned a bachelors degree at Central Washington University. Dederer and his family live in Bothell.
