Alderbrook is an 18-hole, par 72 course. It is 6,326 yards long and is assigned a course/slope rating of 70.3/118. Weekday (Monday through Thursday) green fees are $32, $25 for Seniors and $11 for Juniors. The weekend (Friday through Sunday) and holiday fee is $35 except for Juniors who pay $17. A $20 twilight rate is in effect after 3 p.m.
Club rentals are $15 for 18 holes or $10 for nine holes. Hand carts cost $3 and power carts $23.

Alderbrook offers a driving range, putting green and chipping area. If you are new to the sport or want to buff up your short-iron game, a 45-minute individual lesson costs $40. Canterwood Golf & Country Club is a private 18 hole facility which opened in 1988. Course Par is 72, length is 7,185 and is rated 76.5/141. Also Canterwood is technically the toughest golf course in the state of Washington. Green fees are $60 and guests must be accompanied by a member. Memberships are available, call (253) 851-1845 for more information. Hand carts are complimentary and power carts are $12.

Canterwood offers a driving range, putting green and chipping area. A 30-minute lesson is available for $35.

Gold Mountain offers two 18-hole courses, Olympic and Cascade. Par for the Olympic course is 72. The 7,035-yard course is rated 73.5/131. Olympic’s weekday (Monday through Thursday) green fees are $35, $29 for Seniors and $19 for Juniors. Olympic’s Friday fees are $42, $29 for Seniors and $19 for Juniors, weekend and holiday fees are $50 for everyone.

Par for the Cascade course is 74. Cascade is 6,707 yards long and is rated 71.9/120. Cascade’s weekday (Monday through Thursday) fees are $25, $19 for Seniors and $9 for Juniors, Friday - $28, $19 for Seniors and $9 for Juniors. On weekends and holidays Cascade costs $32 for everyone.

Clubs rent for $25. Hand carts rent for $3 and power carts for $24. The facility offers a putting green, a chipping area and a partially covered driving range. Instruction is available, call for details. The Gold Mountain Bar & Grill serves breakfast and lunch. Gold Mountain has a new club house and restaurant “Tuckers.”

Horseshoe Lake Golf Course is an 18-hole, par 71 course. Its length is 6,120 yards and it is rated 69.1/114. Weekday green fees are $30, $26 for Seniors and $17 for Juniors. The weekend and holiday cost is $37 for everyone. Club rentals are $15 for 18 holes and $10 for nine holes. Hand carts cost $3. Except for the Junior rates, green fees include the use of a power cart for holes 10 through 18. An additional $5 allows players to use a power cart for the front nine holes.

Horseshoe Lake offers a driving range, putting green and chipping area. A 30-minute individual lesson costs $35. The Horseshoe Lake Restaurant is open daily from 6:30 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. and serves breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Kitsap Country Greens

Kitsap Country Greens is a driving range. A large bucket of balls costs $6 and a small bucket is $4.00, Seniors pay $5 and $3.50. A coupon for 10 large buckets can be purchased for $50. House golf clubs are available for $2. The facility currently has 10 covered tees and nine uncovered tees. A chipping area is available but a putting green is not. Area golf professionals offer lessons on site. Rates and times vary, call for information. Kitsap Country Greens offers soft drinks and snacks.

Kitsap Golf & Country Club is a private 18-hole, par 71 course. It is 6,329 yards long and has a rating of 70.1/120. Guests pay $35 on weekdays and $40 on weekends and holidays. Club rentals are not available. Hand carts are complimentary and power carts cost $24 for two persons.

A driving range, putting green and chipping area are available. A 45-minute lesson costs $30 with an assistant professional or $35 with the head professional. For members and their guests, the restaurant offers lunch and dinner daily, and breakfast on weekends.

Lakeland Village Golf Course

Lakeland offers three 9-hole courses, Generation I, II and III. Generation I is a par 35, 2,584-yard course with a rating of 32.9/108. Generation II is a par 36, 3,140-yard course with a rating of 35.6/125. Generation III is a par 36, 3,331-yard course with a rating of 35.9/119.

Green fees are as follows: Friday $30, Weekend - $33 to play Generations II and III, and $30 to play I and II; Monday through Thursday - $25 for any combination of two 9-hole courses. On Tuesdays and Wednesdays the fee is $20 after 12 p.m. Lakeland Village also offers memberships. The annual fee for a single member is $1250, and $1900 for a family. Clubs rent for $10 for 18 holes or $7 for nine holes. Hand cart rentals are $4 for 18 holes and $2 for nine holes, and power carts cost $24 for 18 holes and $14 for nine holes.

Lakeland Village has two driving ranges, a putting green and a chipping area. A 30-minute individual lessons are available, call for rates. Lakeland Village offers snack bar fare.

Madrona offers a driving range, putting green and chipping area. A 45-minute to hour individual lesson is $30. A series of lessons can be purchased: three lessons - $80, five lessons - $120 and ten lessons - $200.

MaryMac’s Restaurant & Bar (895-0142) is open weekdays from 11:00 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. and serves lunch and dinner. Weekend hours are 11:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. A non-buffet Sunday breakfast is available from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Meadowmeer offers a putting green and a chipping area but no driving range. A 30-minute individual lesson at costs $30, but after Memorial Day the cost will be $40. Meadowmeer has a snack bar.

Rocket Golf is a driving range and an 18-hole putting course. A large bucket sells for $7. For patrons 15-years-old and younger the cost is $4 per medium bucket. Irons are available at no cost; woods rent for $2 each with a $2 per club deposit.

General green fees are $6, patrons 12 years and younger pay $4, and a family of 4 with at least one junior pays $4 each. A 30-minute individual lesson with the head professional costs $40, $30 with the assistant. Six lessons are available for $200 from Lowden and five lesson from Fuchs for $120. Patrons 17-years-old and younger pay $20 for a 30-minute lesson with Lowden and $15 with Fuchs.

Rolling Hills offers a driving range, putting green and chipping area. A 45-minute individual lesson at Rolling Hills costs $35. A group of four can receive six lessons for $75 per person, and a group of six can receive six lessons for $50 per person. Putter’s Restaurant and Lounge (377-7077) serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. Putter’s also offers banquet services.

Trophy Lake offers an 18-hole course. Course par is 72, length is 6,162 yards, and its rating is 72.0/133. Green fees change incrementally with the seasons. Green fees for this year’s summer peak season, beginning June 1, will be $57 with power cart, $45 with out on weekdays and $67 with cart, $55 without on weekends/holidays. Clubs rent for $25. Hand carts are complimentary.

The facility offers a driving range, two putting greens and a chipping area. Instruction is available. The Dry Fly Café offers breakfast and lunch Friday through Sunday from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., and lunch Monday through Thursday from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Village Greens Golf Course

Wing Point Golf & Country Club

Wing Point Golf & Country Club is a private 18-hole facility. Course par is 71, length is 6,017 and the course is rated 75.3/131. For 18 holes, guests pay $40 on weekdays and $45 on weekends/holidays; $25 for nine holes during the week, and $30 on weekends/holidays. Memberships are available, call Wing Point for details. Clubs rent for $10. Hand carts are free and power carts go for $25 for 18 holes or $15 for 9.

Wing Point has no driving range but does offer a putting green and a chipping area. Instruction is available, contact the pro shop for details. The restaurant is available to members and their guests.

   Several other courses are within a short driving distance of Kitsap County. These include Gig Harbor Golf and Country Club, Port Ludlow and Chevy Chase Golf and Country Club in Jefferson County and Bayshore, near Shelton, in Mason County.
