Cutler Anderson Architects of Bainbridge Island has received its sixth national Honor Award form the American Institute of Architects.
Formerly James Cutler Architects, the firm worked with Johnston Architects of Seattle to design the award winning Maple Valley Library, also receiving an Honor Award from the Seattle chapter of the AIA.
The details give simple spaces great authority, said the jury. Siting of building and parking accomplished with extraordinary care to preserve the landscape.
The awards follow several other citations. The Maple Valley Library and the Pine Forest Cabin in the Methow Valley won a Merit and an Honor Award respectively in the Wood Design Awards competition last fall.
This past October Cutler Anderson received a Merit Award in the AIA/Sunset Western Home Awards program. The Schmidt Residence in Sequim, Wash. was featured on the cover of the October issue of Sunset Magazine.
