American Marine Bank: Rex Townsend has been AMBs president and CEO since 1998. Chartered in 1948 by Louis H. Bank of America: Originally known as Seafirst Bank, BoA operates seven branches throughout Kitsap County. Branch locations include Bremerton, Silverdale, Port Orchard, Bainbridge Island and Poulsbo. Several of the branches were originally purchased from American Marine Bank in 1989. Bank of America offers both commercial and consumer banking services. Kitsap Community Federal Credit Union: This began as the Navy Yard Metal Trades Credit Union until expanding to become a full-service credit union. Silverdale State Bank: Silverdale State Bank was established in 1919. It was acquired by American Marine Bank on April 15, 2000, and in October will become a branch of American Marine Bank. Silverdales vice president, Randy Ross says he expects Silverdales services to expand as a result, including on-line banking. Pacific Northwest Bank: Organized in 1989 as First National Bank of Port Orchard. Pacific Northwest has branches in Port Orchard, East Bremerton, Gig Harbor, Silverdale and Poulsbo. The Silverdale and Poulsbo branches were formerly Interwest Bank branches. Pacific Northwest Bank was acquired by Interwest Bank in 1998. Timberland Savings Bank: Headquartered in Hoquiam and currently operating a branch in Poulsbo. The president is Clarence Hamre. Within the past year theyve opened new branches in Lakewood, Tumwater and Tacoma. Spokesman Keith Baggerly says Timberland Savings expects to add another full-service branch in Silverdale. Washington Federal Savings: This institution is 84 years old and is headquartered in Seattle.
