Kathleen O’Brien, President of O’Brien & Company, Inc. on Bainbridge Island, was recently recognized by the YWCA of Kitsap County as a “Woman of Achievement 2001” for her contributions in the field of environmentally sensitive design and construction at the April 24 Awards luncheon held at Subase Bangor.

O’Brien is also credited with developing the award winning Build a Better Kitsap program for the Homebuilders Association of Kitsap County. The program, which has won a number of national awards has been the model for a number of “green” building programs adopted throughout the nation.
