Planners for the new 18 hole putting course in East Bremerton chose a Northwest theme rather than the traditional goofy cartoon characters most often associated with putting courses.

Beautifully landscaped with recycled trees, massive rocks and lots of waterfalls and ponds, the course opened for business March 10.

Located on the sloping banks overlooking the two-level driving range, the greens seem to be most popular with teenagers, young adults and families with children.

The physically challenged in wheelchairs may also enjoy playing the lower nine holes, which are on one level with ramps, and have openings specifically built-in for wheelchair access to the greens.

The formal Grand Opening will be held the third weekend in April.
