Dot-Com shake-out book tells success secrets
E-commerce expert Janice Reynolds surveyed the successful dot-coms and dusted off the rubble of the ‘dot-bombs’ to uncover vital lessons for success. Her analysis resulted in a timely and authoritative book, “The Complete E-Commerce Book; Design, Build & Maintain a Successful Web-Based Business.”

The book can be helpful for those at every level of Web expertise, from corporate executives and entrepreneurs with limited technical backgrounds to Web-savvy Internet developers. Reynolds addresses the unique needs of both startups and established companies and includes numerous examples of successful and not-so-successful e-commerce sites with Reynolds’ commentary on what made each site succeed or fail.

Reynolds covers the entire process of creating a commercially viable Web venture, with advice on planning the customer experience through fulfilling orders. It covers planning the site for easy access and effectiveness; making smart software and hardware decisions; designing a site that stands out; using the latest programming tools and techniques; and configuring the server. Reynolds adds advice on marketing, fulfilling orders, managing customer service, choosing vendors, keeping customers satisfied and more.

Reynolds provides technology, marketing, advertising and public relations consulting to information technology and Internet/intranet clients. She has been a leading player in several Internet startups, including wipnet.com, globalgarage.com and Town24.com. Reynolds also provides expert advice to budding entrepreneurs as the E-commerce Expert on allbusiness.com.
