| Caseys K-9 Cleaners, which bills itself as a full service dog wash, recently opened for business at 837 Bay Street in downtown Port Orchard. The shop, which is basically a do-it-yourself place to give your dog a bath, is already a bit of a hit with locals in Port Orchard. Theres been quite a bit of local buzz about it ever since it opened last month with people saying it sure beats trying to wash your pup in the family bath tub or on the lawn with a hose.
Caseys is equipped with everything you need to bathe your dog except you and the dog, according to owner Casey Leach. Clients bring their dogs to the shop and bathe them in waist high tubs that are large enough to accommodate dogs of all sizes. Easy to use ramps are provided for the dogs to walk right up to the tub so owners dont have to lift them, which with larger dogs can be quite a chore.
The bath includes all natural citrus flea shampoo, tearless, hypo-allergenic shampoo for the face, cream rinse, finish spray for conditioning and detangling, ear wipes, as well as the use of combs, brushes, nail trimmers, towels, blow dryers and scissors. The shop also offers its famous Skunk Junk odor treatment when needed for an additional $3.
Leach says that the water is kept at a prescribed temperature designed to soothe your pet, and that all the hoses and nozzles are long enough to reach all areas of the dog with ease. Pets are secured at all times, and there are safety chains available if needed to keep the dog from jumping out of the tub during its bath.
Prices range from $10 for small pooches to $16 for the jumbo size dogs.
Hours are Monday to Thursday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., the same on Saturday and Sunday from noon to 5 p.m. The shop is closed on Fridays.
