InterWest Bank to become
Pacific Northwest Bank
InterWest Bancorp, Inc., the $2.83 billion dollar, Oak Harbor-based financial services holding company, will consolidate all its holdings under one banner after filings with all the appropriate regulatory agencies are completed. The company operates several branch banks in Kitsap County under the InterWest and Pacific Northwest Bank names.

The name change will impact all the company’s commercial banking subsidiaries currently doing business as The Bank of Tukwila, Pioneer Bank, Kittitas Valley Bank as well as Pacific Northwest and InterWest. All will be renamed Pacific Northwest Bank, which was the moniker of the commercial banking affiliate acquired by the company in 1998. The company will adopt the NASDAQ stock symbol PNWB.

‘The new Company will also move its headquarters to the current Pacific Northwest Bank address of 1111 3rd Avenue in downtown Seattle to capitalize on its existing presence in the largest local metropolitan area and economic hub that demographically offers the greatest opportunity for growth. Bank facilities in Oak Harbor will continue their current operations, with no relocation of existing staff.

Kittitas Valley Bank, Pioneer Bank and The Bank of Tukwila will all adopt the new identity by early Fall with InterWest sporting the new badge late in the first quarter once systems conversions are complete.
