| The Kitsap Mental Health Services Foundation’s (KMHS) 6th Annual Golf Classic will be held on Thursday, Aug. 17 at Trophy Lake in Port Orchard. The popular event supports child and family services programs at KMHS.
Events will begin with an 11 a.m. registration, noon putting contest, and a 1 p.m. shotgun start. Golf, cart, tee prizes, a team photo, lunch, and a barbecue dinner are all included in the $125 entry fee. Fly fishing opportunities will be offered during the event for non-golfing supporters and guests.
Among the first to announce sponsorships are the Kitsap Newspaper Group, Wells Fargo Bank and Wells Fargo Mortgage, and Ron Wright and Associates, Architects.
Last year’s tournament helped KMHS to expand its child and family programs to serve an additional 42 percent more people, offer therapeutic foster care to 63 percent more kids through its Intensive Children’s Services, and support children in Kitsap County through consultations with 19 Head Start sites and 37 different classrooms, from Olalla to Bainbridge Island.
