Inclusionary zoning on Bainbridge |
The City of Bainbridge Island recently adopted inclusionary zoning as part of its comprehensive plan, which requires affordable housing in developments of eight or more lots.
Under the rule, recapture of equity reverts back to the city upon resale of the property within the first five years. Bainbridge is imposing a 10 percent surcharge on fees that the City Council has earmarked as a revenue stream to support affordable housing. |
