Olympic Property Group unveils initial plans
for Arborwood development
Recently, real estate developer Olympic Property Group (OPG) unveiled its initial plans for the long-anticipated Arborwood complex in Kingston. OPG, headquartered in Poulsbo, is a division of Pope Resources.

Project Manager Kent Berryman and OPG President Jon Rose presented the housing plan, which includes lot sizes — from 2,600 to 6,500 square feet — that respect current Kitsap County density regulations. Arborwood will offer different size and style homes, including single family, duplexes, and townhouses. The 130-acre Arborwood neighborhood will also incorporate a Community Service Center, which could include convenience shops and other ‘gathering’ type amenities.

“The most important aspect of Arborwood is the creation of a sense of place,” said Rose. “That’s more than a bunch of homes; it’s a feeling and one we’ve strived to create in our plan. We work in practical ways to blend our projects with the community around it.”

“We have carefully planned for each phase of this development and community reaction has played a big role. Much of what is in our plan has been influenced by our neighbors and we feel it’s essential that they agree Arborwood works well for Kingston as a whole,” said Berryman. The company has employed specialists such as traffic engineers, biologists, landscape architects, and engineers to make sure no concern is left unaddressed.

Surveys and studies are still being completed on the site, but the company hopes to submit a preliminary master plan to the county by early 2008. A new website, which will give project updates, should be up and running within the next few months.
