Poulsbo-based Joe Gates Construction, Inc., was honored in June with the Remodeling Excellence Award (REX) presented by the Building Industry Association of Washington. Joe and Judy Gates have been building and remodeling in the greater Kitsap County since 1989 and specialize in large-scale remodels and custom home construction.
The award, presented for remodeling projects up to $150,000 recognized the remodel of a Poulsbo home.
“It’s great to see a home transform from its original condition to something really spectacular” said Joe Gates, “which is one of the things that makes remodeling projects so rewarding.”
The Gates were also honored with a REX award in 2003 for a residential whole house remodel up to $150,000 and in 2005 for a whole house remodel up to $250,000.
Judy Gates says that “competing at the State level is a significant contest and it is fantastic to have one of our projects chosen as the winner among so many high quality entries.
