The Planning Commission assists the Department of Community Development (DCD) in carrying out its responsibilities, including assistance in the preparation and implementation of the Comprehensive Land Use Plan. The nine citizens, who make up the commission, conduct public hearings and make recommendations to the DCD and the Kitsap County Board of Commissioners. There are three members from each Commissioner district and they serve four-year terms. Members may choose to receive $50 reimbursement/compensation for each meeting attended.
