More building planned at Sedgwick Landing
A second building was recently finished at the corner of Sedgwick and Sydney Roads in Port Orchard, with five or six more commercial buildings being planned.

The first building, where the Port Orchard Medical Clinic (part of the Franciscan Medical Group) is the main tenant, was finished earlier this year, and includes a conference room that accommodates 65 people. The second building at the complex, called Sedgwick Landing, was recently completed and will have ReMax Town and Country, a teriyaki restaurant, and a national sandwich shop as tenants.

Jeff Bare, commercial agent for Medallion Properties (a division of Gig Harbor-based Rush Construction), said the next phase of the project will include building three more retail buildings. The buildings will include spaces between 2,000 and 8,000 square feet, but he said currently they are not recruiting any specific type of clients, so a variety of possibilities exist for the types of businesses that may locate there. This next phase is estimated to be complete in about a year. Possible office space and some residential use are also discussed for the future.

The area has seen growing activity in recent years. Previously, Home Depot had expressed interest in a parcel in the area that is also owned by the company, and Lowe’s has recently announced plans to locate in the same area.

“With the research we’ve done, we expect to see a lot of growth,” Bare said.
