“Our public policy committee members, who are very active in local community activities, deliberated the advantages and disadvantages of International Speedway Corporation’s proposal and concluded that the community will benefit from the addition of another sports facility in the Pacific Northwest,” said Mike Eliason, association executive and KCAR government affairs director. Committee members researched racetrack-related issues and conducted fact-finding consultations with realtors in other communities that host professional racetracks.

“The Association supports the concept, but has a number of unanswered questions related to the potential impacts on current Kitsap County residents’ quality of life, including housing, transportation, and the environment,” he noted, adding, “In addition, we have concerns regarding the funding proposal submitted by ISC.
