| J. Lennox Scott, chairman and CEO of John L. Scott Real Estate, was inducted by the Council of Real Estate Brokerage Managers (CRB) into the "Hall of Leaders" during the 2005 National Association of Realtors conference. The Hall of Leaders Award was established to honor real estate industry leaders whose significant contributions continue to shape and impact the real estate industry both locally and nationally.
According to Ginny Shipe, chief executive officer of the Council of Real Estate Brokerage Managers, Scott was chosen for this honor because of his extensive contributions to the real estate industry and local community. "Leadership is about action not position, and Lennox epitomizes that sentiment," said Shipe. "His innovation and service continue to elevate industry standards. We are proud to honor him with this award and value his leadership and contributions in the industry," she adds.
Scott is the third generation to run the family business, which was founded in Seattle in 1931 by his grandfather, John L. Scott. He began his career in real estate in 1976, taking over as president and CEO of the company in 1980, and then as Chairman and CEO in 2002. During his tenure, Scott has grown John L. Scott Real Estate to be the fifth most productive regional real estate company in the nation, with over 130 offices and 4,500 sales associates in the states of Washington, Oregon, and Idaho. He is also the head of the John L. Scott Foundation, which helps raise millions of dollars for 16 Children's Hospitals throughout the Pacific Northwest (johnlscottfoundation.com).
