A new real estate investment club has been formed in Kitsap County. According to organizer Steven Berkowitz, the goal of the White Stone Real Estate Investment Club is to provide interested participants with the opportunity to become involved in real estate ownership along with other investors.
The group is organized much along the lines of a stock investment club, and will meet regularly, search and research real estate for sale in the local marketplace, pool small amounts if investor dollars from each member, and make offers on selected properties. Any properties purchased will be owned jointly in title by the members of the club. The club will decide to either hold the property and use it as a rental, or sell it off for a profit.
Berkowitz says he is hoping to recruit 10-20 members for the club who would each invest $50-100 monthly.
Berkowitz, is a rabbi at the Bremerton synagogue, Beit Tefillah. He is also a former local mortgage banker and owns a paralegal agency as well as the Kitsap franchises for online real estate site HomesByOwner.com, online mortgage broker VLA, Inc., and PTF Financial, a mortgage banker with offices in 45 states. Additionally, Berkowitz is a current Associate Member of the American Bar Association working with the Dispute Resolution Affordable Housing sections.
