Rebuilding Together * Kitsap receives grants

Rebuilding Together * Kitsap (RT * Kitsap), formerly known as Christmas in April, recently received grants from Countrywide Home Loans and the Silverdale Rotary Duck Buck fund.

Countrywide Home Loans Peninsula Area Manager Roger Nance Jr., gave RT * Kitsap a grant for $2,500 from its national headquarters, to assist with the Emergency Year-Round Services fund as well as the annual Rebuilding Day Blitz. Nationally, Countrywide Home Loans has adopted Rebuilding Together as its charity of choice.

RT * Kitsap also received $1,000 grant from the Silverdale Rotary Duck Bucks fund. Rotary members also signed up to be volunteers on RT * Kitsap’s Rebuilding Day on the last Saturday in April.

RT * Kitsap is a non profit organization dedicated to repairing owner occupied, low income housing, particularly for the elderly and those people living with physical disabilities. The goal is to keep people living in their own homes in warmth, safety, and independence while building stronger communities.

RT * Kitsap is one 253 affiliates nationwide that serve over 856 cities. Since its inception in 1990, RT * Kitsap has organized hundreds of volunteers and completed work on 98 homes in Kitsap County and 4 non-profit facilities including the YWCA Alive Shelter.
