McCabe joins BIAW’s prestigious Hall of Fame

The Building Industry Association of Washington (BIAW) recently inducted its Executive Vice President, Tom McCabe, into the BIAW Hall of Fame. McCabe started at BIAW in 1990 when the association had one employee, one filing cabinet, a one room office, no fax machine and no clout.

Since then, McCabe has turned the association into one of the state’s most respected — and feared — political powerhouses. Under his leadership, BIAW has hired dedicated, like-minded staff, publishes an aggressive refreshingly honest newsletter, and provides crucial resources to struggling local associations.

McCabe has sued overzealous government agencies, blasted unscrupulous unions, and rallied members behind property rights and tax initiatives that no other business association was brave enough to take on.

During McCabe’s tenure, BIAW’s membership has quadrupled.

In accepting the award, McCabe thanked his staff, his family and the BIAW Presidents “who stood firm and fought with me for 14 years.”.
