At the Homebuilders Association of Kitsap County’s (HBA) annual Holiday Gala and Installation banquet, the officers and directors for 2005 were installed. In addition the 2004 officer, directors and committee chairs were recognized.
   The event took place Friday, Dec 3 at the Kitsap Golf & Country Club.

   Special Presidents awards for outstanding efforts to support the association and industry:

   Al Todd: For on the Fire Code and Developers Council
   Jeff Coombe: efforts on the Developers Council
   Public Official of the Year: Cindy Baker, Kitsap County DCD Interim Director in recognition of outstanding efforts and contribution on behalf of the citizens of Kitsap County.
   The Orton Lee Award, the HBA’s highest and most prestigious honor, was bestowed upon Bill Parnell for his significant and lasting contributions to the building industry of Kitsap County and Washington State.
   Parnell has served as HBA president — as has his son Kevin — as president of the Building Industry Association of Washington (BIAW), as a BIAW state director and National Association of Homebuilders (NAHB) national director. He is also a life director and was inducted two years ago into the BIAW Hall of Fame. In addition, Parnell served on the Kitsap County Planning Commission for 16 years.
