Archicadia Design/Build of Bainbridge Island recently announced that its new project at 7503 Baker Hill Rd has been awarded a “Built Green” certification from the Kitsap County Homebuilders’ Association (HBA). This designation is awarded to new construction to reflect the environmental responsibility of the project in the areas of site management and landscaping, resource and energy efficiency and interior air quality.

David Balas, Island architect since 1987, served as designer and general contractor on the project. The 3-bedroom, 2500 square-foot home features all certified sustainable yield wood (much of it reclaimed or recycled), non-toxic paints and finishes, a whole house HEPA air filter system, in-floor radiant heat and wiring for generator and/or solar, as well as high speed and wireless communication.
