While the International Building Codes (I-Codes) went into effect July 1, questions on the difference between the new I-Codes and the old Uniform Building Code abound. For the past several months Building Industry Association of Washington (BIAW) has partnered with Washington Association of Building Officials (WABO) and its 15 local associations to offer classes on the transition to the I-Codes. BIAWs class offered answers to many questions, but as builders begun using the new code, new questions crop up daily.
