Jeff McCormick has joined the Homebuilders Association of Kitsap County (HBA) as its government affairs director. He replaces Samantha Torpey, who recently resigned to pursue other interests.
Originally from Phoenix, Ariz., McCormick is a graduate of Arizona State University and a former Army officer who spent 12 years in the Army, both as an enlisted man and an officer.
His experience includes working in state offices for US Senators John McCain and Slade Gorton as well as serving as Pierce County chair for McCains 2000 presidential campaign.
He has also managed and been closely involved in state legislative races.
McCormick has also worked at the Washington State Legislature, regularly meeting with legislators during recent legislative sessions and has worked on a wide range of policy issues A self-proclaimed public policy aficionado, his interests include economic development, community planning, transportation, and smart growth.
