Bob the Builder books teach children safety

Local Home Builders Associations, National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) members and Women’s Councils can now order the 16-page Bob the Builder “Blueprints for Home Safety” activity book that teaches young children about avoiding accidents and injuries in their homes. The publication features a full-color cover, a pullout poster and conveys 10 important safety points.

The book also directs children, parents, and caregivers to a home safety web site, www.bobthebuilder.com/blueprints, which includes information and games associated with home safety.

The books are distributed to children attending home shows, parades of homes and special events, and to educators. They can also be incorporated into “home safety day” activities at local elementary schools in which association members and fire fighters in the community can talk with children to reinforce home safety.

Available for a limited time, the books are free, except for the cost of shipping.

For ordering instructions, visit www.nahb.org/publicaffairs, select Public Relations Resources and look for the link to Bob the Builder “Blueprints for Safety” Program. Or contact Kym Kilbourne at (800) 368-5242, ext. 8447 or kkilbourne@nahb.com.
