Kitsap County’s Department of Community Development (DCD) recently announced the promotion of two staffers. Mike Barth has been named chief building official and Eric Baker as land use and environmental review manager in the Development Permitting Division of DCD.

Barth has been chosen to fill the vacancy created by the impending retirement of Mark H Grimm, who has been a Kitsap County employee for over 30 years, the last five as the chief building official.

Baker is taking a newly created position, which oversees a combined Land Use and Environmental Review Division. He has been with Kitsap County for over ten years in the capacity of code enforcement supervisor, senior planner, and code enforcement officer and has worked in nearly every division of DCD.
