In a joint venture with the Bremerton Housing Authority (BHA), Kitsap County Consolidated Housing Authority (KCCHA) recently announced that Westpark, the 63-year old public housing project, will be converted into a vibrant pedestrian friendly mixed-use community comprised of commercial retail, office and residential development.
The plan includes sites for 750-1,200 mixed income owner-occupied homes, apartments, and assisted-living facilities for seniors. The project will be built over 8-10 years at an estimated cost of $300 million, which will come from a combination of loans, federal tax credits purchased by private investors, and grants.
The Board of County Commissioners, members of the KCCHA Board, will vote on the proposal later this month. |
