The Homebuilders Association of Kitsap County (HBA) recently held its annual installation of officers and awards banquet. The event took place at Kitsap Golf and Country Club, and dignitaries in attendance included County Commissioners Jan Angel and Chris Endresen, Port Orchard Mayor-elect Kim Abel, Kitsap County Sheriff Steve Boyer, Kitsap County. Public Works Director Randy Casteel, Kitsap County Health District Environmental Health Director Jerry Deeter, and Assistant Director Keith Grellner, and 2004 Kitsap County Association of Realtors President Frank Mahaffey. Master of Ceremonies for the event was Business Journal Editor and Publisher Lary Coppola.

Installed as officers for the coming year were: President, Rick Courson of Cedar Bay Homes; First Vice President, Dale Armstrong of JAFA Enterprises; Second Vice President, Jeff Davidson of Yee Construction; Secretary, Dee Coppola of Wet Apple Publishing; and Treasurer, Randy Biegenwald, CPA.

Outgoing President John Armstrong honored Rick Courson as Builder Member of the Year for his work on the Impact Fee Task Force and Builder Education. Dee Coppola was named as Associate Member of the Year for her efforts on the auction and Parade of Homes committees as well for her recruiting efforts. Charlie Mackall of Northwest Renovations, who served as the 2003 chairman of the Remodelors Council was honored as Remodelor of the Year.

Special Presidents Awards were presented to Lisa Phipps of John L. Scott Real Estate for her work on the Veterans Memorial project, Randy Biegenwald, CPA, for his efforts on Build a Better Christmas and other projects, Gale Culbert, CGR/CGB for his work in building the membership of the organization and Lary Coppola for his support of the group with the Kitsap Peninsula Business Journal.
