Samantha Torpey has joined the Homebuilders Association of Kitsap County as its new government affairs director. She replaces longtime staffer Alan Martin who left to return to his previous position as a legislative lobbyist and political consultant.

Torpey is a recent graduate of the University of Washington, where she studied English literature. She has also interned in the Washington State legislature, and as a reporter and researcher with The Everett Herald newspaper.
