U.S. Rep. Jay Inslee announced that the Kitsap County Consolidated Housing Authority (KCCHA) will receive a federal grant of $94,585 for renewal of its Family Self Sufficiency (FSS) program in Silverdale. The FSS program combines housing assistance with a package of support services to help participating families achieve economic independence, self-sufficiency and homeownership.
This grant will allow the Kitsap County Consolidated Housing Authority to continue its important mission to provide homeownership assistance and services to low and moderate income families in our community, said Inslee. I will continue to support this federal funding, because I believe that homeownership promotes financial independence and economic mobility for low-income families.
The FSS program empowers Kitsap County families through counseling and training on personal budget and credit, job readiness and home ownership skills, with the ultimate goal of the participant establishing financial self-sufficiency and homeownership. |
