The Bremerton architectual firm of Rice Fergus Miller Design & Planning LLP, recently announced that it had been awarded a number of new design contracts.

The firm was selected to design a new assisted living facility for the Mt. Si Senior Center in Snoqualmie.

The facility will consist of 40 assisted living units, 8 dementia units, adult day health and a wellness center. The project is being developed by Marathon Senior Living Services of Issaquah.

Marathon, a developer of low-income senior housing, has also partnered with Rice Fergus Miller to assist the Bremerton Housing Authority in the development of its proposed assisted living community.

The Firs II will consist of a 60-unit Assisted Living Community and 12 Dementia units, located adjacent to the existing Firs Apartments.

Additionally, the firm been awarded contracts to undertake strategic planning services for three separate fire districts.

For Northshore Fire Department (King 16), the firm will be assessing the functional an operational needs, physical condition, structural integrity, and maintenance needs as well as compliance with health and safety standards at the Headquarters Station located at the north end of Lake Washington.

The Littlerock Fire Department (Thurston 11) will have the firm preparing preliminary building and site plans for replacing two existing fire stations south of Tumwater. This is in anticipation of the department going to the voters in the Spring for funding.

Cowlitz 2 Fire & Rescue has engaged Rice Fergus Miller to prepare a district wide capital improvement plan that will document the need, costs, and justifications for replacing two stations and improving four others serving the city of Kelso and areas surrounding Kelso and Longview.

The Kitsap County Health District has selected the firm to design its 16,000 sq.ft. offices, to be located in the new Government Center in downtown Bremerton.

The Health District plans to open their new offices in the Summer of 2004.
