Jim Harris, a Windermere agent in Poulsbo, has been elected president of the Washington Association of Realtors (WAR) for 2005. He will serve as president-elect in 2004. The last time a member of the Kitsap County Association of Realtors (KCAR) was elected president of the WAR was nearly 30 years ago.
Harris has been active in KCAR since moving here in 1988. He served as the groups president in 1998 and received the coveted Realtor of The Year award in 1999. At the state level, he has served on the executive committee for four years, as its representative to the National Association of Realtors (NAR), as a vice president and also was treasurer.
Harris was president of the state chapter of the Certified Residential Specialists (CRS) last year. Nationally, Harris has been appointed annually for the past 5 years as the NAR presidents personal liaison to the Real Estate Institute of New Zealand and recently as vice-chair of the International Forum.
Harris has managed Realtor offices in Kirkland and Silverdale for Prudential, and is also known for his work as president of the Kiwanis Club in Poulsbo and then as lieutenant governor for the Kiwanis division that spans Kitsap county and part of Mason County. |
