AGC/OSHA alliance to help promote
safe workplaces

The Associated General Contractors of Washington and the Seattle regional office of the U.S. Department of Labor’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration have formed an alliance to promote safe working conditions for construction workers.

“We can accomplish a great deal to improve workers’ well being by joining with our partners in Washington State’s construction industry,” said U.S. Secretary of Labor Elaine Chao. “This alliance is an excellent example of the Labor Department’s commitment to provide useful and timely assistance to America’s employers and workers.”

“It will enhance the expertise of OSHA’s compliance officers and foster a national dialogue on construction safety and health,” said OSHA Regional Administrator Richard Terrill.

To promote discussions on workplace safety and health, AGC and OSHA’s Seattle office will share information, convene forums on injury and illness trends and develop models OSHA can incorporate as industry recommendations.
